Where can I have my eyes tested?
To have an eye test by one of our qualified Optometrists, either drop into one of our stores or phone for an appointment.
How often should i have my eyes checked?
Early detection is vital in treating some of the common eye conditions; Visionary Optometrists recommends eye sight testing every 3 years even if you don't wear glasses and even if your vision is good.
What's involved?
A complete eye test involves a series of test designed to evaluate your vision and check for eye diseases. It doesn't hurt. The eye sight test usually begins with your medical history and any vision problems you might be experiencing. Next, your Optometrist checks both the inside and the outside of your eyes. Finally your Optometrist measures your vision and assesses your need for glasses or contact lenses.
What eye disorders are screened for in an eye sight test?
There are too many to mention, however some of the commonly known ones include Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Dry Eyes, Allergies, Diabetic Maculopathy, Turned Eye and Astigmatism to name a few.
What about children?
Early identification of a child's vision problem can be crucial because children are often more responsive to treatment when they are diagnosed early. All children should be examined before they are three years old and again before they start school.
What does it cost?
Eye sight tests at Visionary Optometrists are bulk billed to Medicare. So for eligible Medicare card holders Medicare Australia covers the full cost of the exam meaning there is no out of pocket expense for you. If other tests are required which cost money we will notify you first before proceeding.
